As I Stood There

My Photo's and Thoughts

About Me
Black Friday.
There is something VERY wrong with this story:  Wal-Mart Worker Dies When Shoppers Break Down DoorsNow, I’m not all anti-shopping the day after thanksgiving… I’ve gone a few times.  Yet, the more I think about it, it does seem sad that the day after thanksgiving, the day we are to be thankful, remembering all that we are blessed with – we have black friday.  A day of get, get, get and want, want, want.  Seems a bit ironic doesn’t it?Don’t get me wrong cause I love to shop but I am rethinking this whole black friday shopping day.  I’m certianly not judging you if you do go.  And I can’t say I’ll never go again, but when I think about it in my heart of hearts, I can’t help but feel that I may not be going in the future.  I had such a fun day with the family, playing games and hanging out at home – who knows, maybe this will become my family’s tradition. What are your thoughts and feelings about black friday?

Bubbly.
If I weren’t allergic I think we’d probably have a dog.  But… since we can’t, we decided on a whim to go pick up our first pet as a married couple.  Haha.  And here he is!  Bubbly!!  It was between him and a bright yellow one. He won cause he made us laugh with his humongo eyes.  I like this picture cause it’s totally him with his big round eyes, and it looks like he is frowning.  I don’t think he liked the plastic bag… or us.  But hopefully the bag :)

Update 2010:  Bubbly went on to live our friends the Anderson’s.  We dropped him off when we were headed out of town for a few weeks and when we came back the love between the Anderson’s and Bubbly was so great and we let him stay.  Okay, we kind of pawned him off.  He had a few issues and Deborah was able to revive him from great sickness but eventually he passed (moment of silence please…)  Lesson learned:  David and I are not fish people.  But, he was a good fish.

Beautiful Thursday 45

…   …   …

I saw these mailboxes the other day and really liked them so David and I went back today to snap a picture.

Long wheat looking things that were at the rock garden.

This tree is at harmon park.  It’s beautiful.  They planted it in honor of my Dad.

Love his face in this picture.  As if he’s saying “Seriously?” haha

Cutie Isaac Hooton.

I told him to make a silly face.

Baking Morning – Cinnamon Rolls, Caramel Rolls and Cookies!

I just had one of the most fun Saturday mornings with some of my girlfriends and my husband.  It was a fun morning of hanging out, goofing around, signing up for blogs, baking and seeing how many times we could get David to go to wal-mart; which was three.  Here’s the awesome recipe for homemade cinnamon rolls/caramel rolls if you ever get the hunch to bake!

This recipe takes awhile so I would recommend doing this with a friend.  It’s good hang out time.  I would also like to thank my good friend Deborah Anderson for passing on this recipe (which was given to her by her mom) to me.

Camera coming soon…!

My very 1st post!!  I’m excited to start taking pictures and sharing some of my thoughts.  My camera (canon rebel xti) will be arriving by the end of the week!!  I’m sooo excited.  We (my husband and I) have been saving up for this for awhile now and it will be a sweet moment to get the canon box in the mail.

Trust me I am no expert photographer, I’m probably not even worthy of this camera but I’m so excited to learn and just go for it.  Don’t expect anything too great at first – from my pictures or my snit bit thoughts here and there -  this is a growing experience and hopefully I will take better and better pictures and write better and better over time.

I’ll let you all know when my camera comes!  And unless I have any moving thoughts between now and then – see you then!
